WHO WE ARE

Choosing to have cosmetic surgery is a big decision. That’s why it’s important to do your research and know the facts.

ASAPS has been one of the peak bodies for cosmetic surgery in Australia and New Zealand for 40 years. We represent 300 comprehensively qualified Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons in the region. We are committed to making sure you receive the best advice, find an appropriately qualified Aesthetic Plastic Surgeon and experience world-class treatment before, during and after your surgery.

Why is it important to choose a surgeon we recommend? Because anyone in Australia and New Zealand with a six year medical degree can call themselves a cosmetic surgeon. As a consumer, this exposes you to a huge range of doctors with extremely varied surgical training and experience.

ASAPS can offer the guidance you need to choose a surgeon with outstanding cosmetic surgery experience and appropriate qualifications. ASAPS Members have eight to 12 years of specialist surgical training beyond their medical degree. Surgeons with this level of training are easy to identify because they have FRACS after their name.

All ASAPS members work with anaesthetists they know and trust, and perform surgery in reputable hospitals and clinics. Each of our members is committed to helping you achieve your cosmetic goals in a safe and caring environment, every step of the way.
