2017 40th Annual ASAPS Conference

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the cultural capital of Australia, Melbourne, the city where it all began 40 years ago, to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the ASAPS Annual Conference.

THE THEME – Excellence in Cosmetic Surgery

This year’s conference is all about “excellence in Cosmetic Surgery” and will combine content rich scientific sessions alongside business focused sessions ideal for you and your practice staff.

The welcome reception and gala dinner will be spectacular as we celebrate the 40th Anniversary. The Production House Events will coordinate the meeting with Suzanne Ali and we have all come to expect outstanding events and seamless organisation associated with this combination.

This year we are fortunate to have excellent speakers who will share their expertise in Breast and Body Surgery, Neck, Eyelid and Facial surgery. At this year’s meeting we have the Inaugural RACS Visiting Professor.

Dr Bill Adams, USA – Inaugural RACS Visiting Professor
Dr Giovanni Botti, Italy
Dr Daniel Labbe, France

There is a vast amount of untapped experience and knowledge within our membership base. We encourage you to share your clinical and/or research expertise that will contribute significantly to the meeting.

For those uncertain about how to start presenting, there are 2 simple, formats that can be used

  1. 5 or 10 slides in a row (10 mins)
  2. Petcha Kutcha/ STOCS ( 20 slides in 6 min 40 Sec)

The Petcha Kutcha/ Short Talks on Cosmetic Surgery (STOCS) sessions include 20 slides in 20 second auto forward (6 mins 40 second duration).

Based on the feedback we received last year, we are introducing Business Management Sessions that will be of use to both Plastic Surgeons and Practice Managers. Delegates are encouraged to submit case studies and business medical scenarios focusing on budgets, business plans, updated policies or procedures and other potential challenges in your practice for discussion.

The practice management sessions will involve sessions specifically designed for your staff. This year’s focus will include: Practice Management, HR issues, Social Media and Marketing tips, Patient Management and Customer Satisfaction and various other topics will be covered. These sessions are designed to be highly interactive and the Practice Staff will be encouraged to submit examples.

We look forward to welcoming you to what is undoubtedly going to be the highlight in the Australasian Plastic Surgery calendar. We hope you all take advantage of the strong business and practice management program and bring your staff and we look forward to seeing you in Melbourne.
