In postponing the 43rd ASAPS Annual Conference, ASAPS saw that a unique opportunity existed for us to continue to engage and educate our members via virtual means.
We are excited to announce the 2020 ASAPS Aesthetic Breast Course II – The Virtual Edition which will take place online on Saturday, 10 October 2020. This one day event will comprise a program dedicated to breast topics, with a faculty made up of both international and local talents.

Jamil Ahmad
Dr. Jamil Ahmad practices at the Plastic Surgery Clinic in Toronto, Canada, and is an assistant professor in the Division of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery at the University of Toronto. Dr. Ahmad has authored over 120 articles and chapters in plastic surgery including three textbooks: Dallas Rhinoplasty: Nasal Surgery by the Masters, 3rd Ed; Secondary Rhinoplasty by the Global Masters; and the Dallas Rhinoplasty and Dallas Cosmetic Surgery Dissection Guide. He is on the Editorial Board for Aesthetic Surgery Journal and is the My Way Section Editor for Aesthetic Surgery Journal Open Forum. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Aesthetic Society, the Rhinoplasty Society, and the Canadian Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Dr. Ahmad is sought after for his expertise in rhinoplasty, breast and body contouring surgery, female cosmetic genital surgery, and patient safety in plastic surgery.
Mitchell H. Brown
Mitchell H. Brown, BSc, MD, MEd, FRCSC
Mitchell H. Brown, MD, is a Professor in the Department of Surgery and past Program Director of the plastic surgery training program in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at The University of Toronto. Dr. Brown’s plastic surgery practice is focused primarily on reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery and body contouring.
Dr. Brown earned his medical degree at the University Of Western Ontario Faculty Of Medicine in London, Ontario. He completed his residency in plastic surgery at the University of Toronto and then received a Master’s degree in Education.
Dr. Brown has lectured extensively in the areas of reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery with a strong focus on breast implants. He is the Founder of Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day, an advocacy initiative to raise awareness for options in breast reconstruction. Dr. Brown is the Chair of the Toronto Breast Surgery Symposium, Canada’s largest annual meeting focused on plastic surgery of the breast. He is a member of the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Canadian Society for Aesthetic (Cosmetic) Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, The American Association of Plastic Surgeons, the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Caroline Glicksman
Caroline Glicksman, MD MSJ
A board certified plastic surgeon since 1994, Dr. Glicksman has authored numerous chapters in prestigious textbooks and peer-reviewed journals. She lectures regionally, nationally, and internationally, covering topics including the management of breast implant complications, the diagnosis and correction of breast asymmetry, High Resolution Ultrasound techniques, and patient education in in breast augmentation. Currently serving as Co-Chair of the ASERF scientific committee, Board Member of ASERF, and a clinical editor of the Aesthetic Surgery Journal.
She is the first woman to serve as a Medical Director for a US breast implant clinical trial and the lead investigator for Establishment Labs Motiva Silicone Breast Implant Clinical trial. She holds three United States patents related to breast implant surgery and in 2020 completed her Master Degree in Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Law at Seton Hall Law School.
Jeffrey M. Kenkel
Jeffrey M. Kenkel, M.D., FACS, is a board-certified plastic surgeon located in Dallas, Texas. He is the holder of the Betty and Warren Woodward Chair in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Professor and Chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He is the Director of the Clinical Center for Cosmetic Laser Treatment. His clinical practice is located at the Outpatient Building on the UT Southwestern Medical Center Campus and Frisco UT Southwestern Plastic Surgery Clinic.
Patrick Mallucci
Patrick Mallucci graduated in 1989 from medical school to embark upon his surgical training. In 1993 he became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Having completed his general surgery, he undertook his training in Plastic Surgery both in the UK and abroad – Lon-don, Oxford, Stoke Mandeville, Australia and Paris.
In 1996 he was awarded the higher post graduate degree of Doctorate in Medicine (MD) hav-ing spent two years at University College London developing the concept of scarless wound healing. He was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Plastic Surgery, FRCS(Plast) in 1998.
Mr Mallucci is entered into the GMC Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery. He is a full member of the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) and the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS). He is also an Honorary Consultant Plastic Surgeon at The Royal Free and University College London Hospitals.
He is the founder of Mallucci London a highly prestigious practice in Knightsbridge, London where he is now based full time in private practice. This is a multidisciplinary clinic encompass-ing both non surgical and surgical treatments. Mr Mallucci has assembled a group of interna-tionally renowned clinicians, experts in their individual fields to be able to deliver the highest standards of care to patients.
Mr Mallucci has published extensively within the Plastic Surgery Literature throughout his ca-reer and is frequently invited to present his work world wide at Plastic Surgery Conferences and education forums. He is most renowned for his innovative research into “The Perfect Breast” a defining series of papers that have been published globally setting new standards in aesthetic breast surgery. In 2015 his population study of the perfect beast was awarded best international publication in the American Journal Plastic and Reconstructive surgery. His most recent publication ‘the ICE principle’ has been adopted internationally as a new concept in breast augmentation. He is actively involved in teaching both at undergraduate and postgrad-uate level including leading international masterclasses in aesthetic breast surgery.
He has also been highly represented in the media throughout his career having partaken in numerous television documentaries and news items as well as the mainstream written press where his opinion on current matters in Plastic Surgery is often sought.

Luis Rios Jr.
Dr. Luis Rios Jr. is a board-certified plastic surgeon with the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He holds an ASAPS Certificate in Advanced Education in Cosmetic Surgery and serves as President of The Aesthetic Surgery Education and Research Foundation where he represents The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. In addition, Dr. Luis Rios Jr. is also the President of the Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Rios completed his MD at Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas after completing a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Harvard University.

Namrata Anavekar
Ms Namrata (Nam) Anavekar is a Melbourne based Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon. Upon completing her surgical training, Ms Anavekar undertook a two year fellowship in Switzerland and France. During this time, she gained increased experience in the fields of aesthetic surgery, under the tutelage of Mr Eric Auclair, Mr Claude Le Louarn and Mr Jean-Brice Duron. Ms Anavekar had the opportunity to work closely with Mr Auclair, specifically gaining knowledge and experience in composite breast augmentation.
Anand Deva
Professor Anand Deva is the Program head in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and Co-Director of the Surgical Infection Research Group at the Faculty of Health and Medical Science at Macquarie University. Additionally, he holds senior staff specialist position and Conjoint Professor at Sydney hospital in the Department of Hand and upper limb surgery. Professor Deva has published widely on issues related to breast implant safety, wound healing and surgical infection. More recent work has focused on improving delivery of health care services through models of integrated care. He is director of the not for profit integrated specialist education and research foundation dedicated to improving the access of Australians to quality healthcare.
Robert Drielsma
Robert Drielsma is an Australian trained Specialist Plastic Surgeon. He trained in Sydney attaining Fellowships from The RACS in general surgery in 1991 and in Plastic and Reconstructive surgery in 1994. Fellowships in East Grinstead Hospital England and The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada were undertaken before settling into Private practice in Australia. Having been in private practice now for 20 years, this was primarily in Canberra for over 10 years before moving to Private practice in Sydney over the last 10 years.
Dr Drielsma’s interests are primarily in aesthetic surgery of the the breast, face and body contouring. He was one of the first to introduce the vertical mammoplasty in Australia and has helped popularise it in this country. He is an active surgeon in the area of body contouring following massive weight loss and has lectured and participated in forums as well as helped shape new techniques and approaches in lower and upper body-lifting surgery.
While being passionate about his work, Dr Drielsma values life balance with keen involvement in family, tennis, skiing and motorsport.
Craig Layt
Dr Craig Layt is a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr Layt graduated from the University of Queensland Medical School in 1988 and completed his training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Queensland. In 2001 Dr Layt commenced in private practice utilising his training as a plastic surgeon, bringing his expertise to the Gold Coast and Ballina. In addition to his private practice, Dr Layt is a Supervisor at The Breast Academy. Dr Layt is a past President of the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons and is highly credentialed in all areas of Plastic, Cosmetic, and Reconstructive Surgery, as well as a variety of non-surgical cosmetic enhancements.
Mark Magnusson
Associate Professor Mark Magnusson is a Specialist Plastic Surgeon practicing in Toowoomba and on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia with an academic attachment to the Griffith University School of Medicine Gold Coast Campus. He is the immediate past president of the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.
His primary surgical and research focus is on Breast and Body-contouring Surgery.
Due to his research interests including Breast Device Registries, Breast Implant Associated-Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (BIA-ALCL), Breast Implant Illness (BII), Breast implant selection, Quantifying functional outcomes from surgery and Patient Safety his breast practice includes a large proportion of revision breast surgery. His other clinical and research interest relates to facial anatomy and surgical and non-surgical facial rejuvenation.
A/Prof Magnusson is a member of the editorial board for the Aesthetic Surgery Journal, Australasian Journal of Plastic Surgery and a reviewer for the Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal Global Open. He is also on a number of industry and government Advisory Boards for BIA-ALCL and BII and The Therapeutic Goods Administration Breast Implant Expert Working Group.
Michael Miroshnik
Dr Michael Miroshnik is an Australian-trained plastic surgeon who runs a aesthetic private practice in Sydney, Australia. He specialises in aesthetic surgery of the breast and has a high-volume practice, performing well over 500 aesthetic breast procedures annually.
After graduating from the University of Sydney in 1997, he was awarded the Sidney B Clipsham Memorial Prize in Operative Surgery and then embarked on his journey into the world of plastic surgery. After a further 10 years of training amongst all the major hospitals in Sydney, Dr Miroshnik was awarded his FRACS (PLAS.) degree and furthered his experience by spending time in several leading centres throughout Europe and Asia including Taiwan, Singapore, London, Paris, Rome & Stockholm.
Building on his own experience over the years, he has developed a number of unique concepts, ideas and operative techniques that allow him to achieve predictable and uniquely customizable results in aesthetic breast surgery. An active member of ASPS, ASAPS and ISAPS, Dr Miroshnik has been passionately involved in advanced aesthetic surgery training for over a decade. He continues to run aesthetic master classes for plastic surgeons in his hometown as well as abroad.
Nicholas Moncrieff
Dr Nick Moncrieff is a Specialist Plastic Surgeon and an Australian leader in breast and body surgery for women.
His depth of experience in breast and body transformations means he focuses exclusively on breast reductions, lifts, augmentations, tummy tucks and body lifts.
Dr Moncrieff co-founded Hunter Plastic Surgery in Newcastle NSW with his wife Amber in 2009. The team is multi-award winning having secured 19 awards across local, national and global awards programs for their outstanding service and results.
He is also a regular speaker at industry conferences including ASAPS 2019 in Brisbane and Breast Masters in 2018 in Sydney.
Tim Papadopoulos

Dr. Tim Papadopoulos is in private practice and has been working as a Cosmetic Plastic Surgeon in Sydney, New South Wales, since 2002. He is the Founder and Medical Director of CosmeticCulture Medical Spas, offering multi-location non-invasive and minimally invasive aesthetic treatments. Dr. Papadopoulos is on staff at Westmead and Hunters Hill Private Hospitals where he is active in the training of future plastic surgeons.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and was the Immediate Past President of the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS A.N.Z). Dr. Papadopoulos is a Member of many medical societies, including the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS U.S.) and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) where he currently serves on the Educational Board as the Regional Co-Chair for Australasia and has been an invited guest speaker at numerous U.S. and international conferences.
Dr. Papadopoulos is involved in teaching applied anatomy at the annual ASAPS (ANZ) Anatomy and Live Injecting Workshop which is open to plastic surgeons, dermatologists, cosmetic doctors and nurses concentrating on anatomy relevant to non-surgical rejuvenation methods and ageing. He is also on Faculty for the Melbourne Advanced Facial Anatomy Course (MAFAC) run by Dr. Bryan Mendelson for plastic surgeons which is also taught at The Aesthetic Meeting run by ASAPS (U.S.). Dr. Papadopoulos has been a luminary for CoolSculpting in Australasia and on Faculty for ASAPS (U.S.) and the American-Brazilian Aesthetic Meeting (ABAM).
Dr. Papadopoulos’ clinical practice focuses on cosmetic surgery of the face (with a special interest in facial aging), breast and body (concentrating on issues involved with massive weight loss patients), and the surgical repair of deformities resulting from cancer and trauma. He combines state-of-the-art techniques with sensitivity and the highest level of patient care.
Amira Sanki
Dr Amira Sanki is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon based in Sydney, Australia. She graduated with honours from the University of New South Wales in 2000. She has a Doctorate in Philosophy from the University of Sydney on the topic of metastatic melanoma. Dr Sanki is a board member for the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. Her special interest is body contouring after massive weight loss and the use of non surgical techniques to help restore facial youth and volume in this group of patients. Dr Sanki is a mentor to many female plastic surgeons and trainees and regularly teaches Anatomy to those preparing for their Fellowship exam. Dr Sanki has presented this year at the ASPS Annual Scientific Congress and is a member of faculty for the Breast Masters Symposium.

Cancellation Policy / Refund Policy
Registration cancellations received up to and including Friday 11 September 2020 will receive a full refund, less a $AUD50 administration fee. No refunds will be given for cancellations received on or after Saturday 12 September 2020 – this includes cancellation of any additional social event tickets. As an alternative to cancellation, registrations may be transferred to another person (for the same registration category) on or before Friday 2 October 2020 without receiving any extra cost penalty. In the instance that the 2020 ASAPS Aesthetic Breast Course II – The Virtual Edition does not proceed, or a registered delegate cannot attend due to a COVID related reason, please email [email protected] to request a full refund. Cases will be reviewed on an individual basis. No administration fee will apply in such a case. *Credit card surcharges associated with your registration will not be refunded in the case of cancellation.

The members of the ASAPS Council and The Production House Events do not accept any liability for any losses incurred pre, post or during the Conference due to unforeseen cancellation or postponement. In the event of the Conference being cancelled, refunds will only be issued in accordance with the cancellation policy. The Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons has the right to decline delegates attending/accessing meetings managed by the Society. The Production House Events reserves the right to cancel or modify any registration that has been made in an incorrect category.
