ASAPS extends sympathy to the families affected by volcanic eruption tragedy

The Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS) Board extends its sympathy to the families affected by the volcanic eruption on Whakaari / White Island in the Bay of Plenty on 9 December 2019.

Specialist Plastic Surgeons who are members of the ASAPS are working alongside our NZAPS colleagues and have been amongst those Police and National Emergency Management Agency respondents looking after the immediate medical needs of those affected.

The ASAPS Board expresses its deepest sympathy to the families affected. It also sends gratitude to the ASAPS Members and NZAPS members who have stood up to help in this time of great need.

Yours truly,

Dr Naveen Somia
President of ASAPS on behalf of the ASAPS Board
