Elective surgery is going to be gradually ramped up to the level set by each state,  each of which has their own policies.

ACT: ACT has lifted restrictions on the recommencement of cosmetic services that are provided by a practitioner who is registered with AHPRA.

NSW: The NSW Department of Health has stated that cosmetic injections provided by a medical practitioner at health premises are permitted for people who require medical care. Registered health practitioners should consider whether it is safe and appropriate to provide non-urgent treatment at this time, and if they can provide the level of protection necessary for both their staff and clients. NSW allows opening of beauty salons from 1 June 2020.

VIC: Beauty and personal care services like nail salons, spas, tattoo parlours will be able to open with up to 20 customers per space – with customer contact details required to be kept.

QLD: All elective surgery is to resume in QLD, subject to hospital capacity.

SA: The state allows recommencement of cosmetic procedures.

WA: The Department of Health, WA, has stated that cosmetic services may only be performed at a medical/health clinic where medically or clinically indicated (i.e. not for a cosmetic purpose). Individual medical practitioners will need to determine whether a treatment is medically or clinically indicated, as opposed to being provided for a cosmetic purpose.
